Image Credit: SLNG Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG) has started construction of a third jetty at its Jurong Island terminal in Singapore , with the new facility expected to support growing demand for LNG bunkering.

Due for completion in the second half of 2028 , jetty 3 will handle vessels ranging from 5,800 m3 to 80,000 m3 , with a focus on small and mid-scale LNG operations, as per a press release issued by SLNG on Friday .

The jetty is expected to support around 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG bunker reload demand.

Alongside its existing infrastructure, SLNG could handle up to 3 mtpa of LNG bunker reload, depending on market demand.

SLNG said the project comes as demand for LNG bunkering infrastructure grows, with around 1,700 LNG dual-fuelled vessels expected to be in operation worldwide by 2029 .

Separately, SLNG has secured ISCC EU certification for handling bio-LNG at its terminal.

The certification covers storage, regasification and send-out, bunkering and trucking, allowing bio-LNG handled through these services to be traced and accounted for under the scheme.

Jetty 3 will also be equipped to handle bio-LNG, supporting its use as a lower-carbon marine fuel.

Singapore sold 571,400 mt of LNG bunkers in 2025 , up 23.1% year-on-year, according to Ship & Bunker 's analysis of MPA data.
