Industry Doosan Enerbility ships first Korea-made gas turbine to SpaceX AI in U.S.

This is the first time a domestically developed gas turbine has been sold to the United States by a Korean company, a move to speed up the push into North America, the world's largest energy market, by expanding cooperation with big tech.

/Courtesy of Doosan Enerbility Doosan Enerbility said it has completed production of the S2 380MW (megawatt) class gas turbine (DGT6-300H) to be supplied to U.S.-based SpaceXAI and held a shipment ceremony on the 6th.

About 70 people attended the ceremony at the gas turbine assembly plant at the Changwon headquarters, including key officials from SpaceXAI, the client, Son Seung-woo, head of the Power Service BG, and Doosan Enerbility employees.

After touring the gas turbine shipment site that day, attendees visited the production site at the Changwon headquarters and discussed plans to expand the gas turbine business with Doosan Enerbility's management.

The gas turbine being shipped this time will be used in SpaceXAI's energy infrastructure buildout project in the United States.

In particular, the company said it plans to use the fact that the product meets the technical specification requirements of global big tech as a springboard to expand additional business in the future.

Son Seung-woo, head of Doosan Enerbility's Power Service BG, said, "By entering the supply chain of a global AI company, we have proven the technological prowess and quality of Korea's gas turbines," and added, "Building on this shipment, we plan to accelerate our push into the global large gas turbine market, including North America."
