This equipment is slated for use in an energy infrastructure project spearheaded by SpaceXAI in the United States.
This marks Doosan Enerbility's inaugural actual export of a gas turbine to the US market.
The significance of this shipment lies in its establishment of a tangible track record, moving beyond mere contract wins to include manufacturing and delivery for a US-based project.
The company plans to leverage this milestone to expand its reach into the large-scale global gas turbine market, including North America.
The DGT6-300H S2 is an H-class gas turbine capable of 380MW output in simple cycle.
It aims for an efficiency of over 43% according to product specifications, with a normal startup time of 20 minutes and a fast startup time of 12 minutes.
Doosan Enerbility is increasingly supplying gas turbines, primarily for data center power infrastructure in the United States.
In March 2026, the company signed an additional contract with a US firm for seven 380MW gas turbines, bringing the total number of units contracted for US supply to 12.
These units are intended for data centers and are scheduled for sequential delivery, one unit per month, starting in May 2029.
The company attributes its growing success in securing these orders to the proven performance of its gas turbines, competitive delivery times, and the maintenance capabilities of its Houston-based subsidiary, DTS.
Since localizing large gas turbine production in 2019, Doosan Enerbility has accumulated 17,000 hours of operational experience through product verification.
With the proliferation of AI data centers and advanced manufacturing facilities, demand for rapid power supply solutions like gas-fired combined cycle plants is surging in the US.
In a market with a limited number of gas turbine suppliers, the need for companies that can ensure timely delivery and robust maintenance capabilities is also on the rise.
Beyond individual gas turbine units, Doosan Enerbility is also pursuing business expansion by integrating generators and maintenance services.
Broadening its scope to include long-term maintenance after equipment supply can open doors to comprehensive contracts for both data centers and combined cycle power plants.
Among the large-scale power projects in the US, the Encinal gas-fired combined cycle power project in Texas is a notable area of interest.
This project aims to establish 6.4GW of generation capacity, comprising 1.4GW of gas turbine power and 5GW of gas-fired combined cycle power.
The total project cost is estimated at $22.3 billion, with a target operational date of 2032.
However, the exact quantity of gas turbines to be ordered for the Encinal project and the timeline for supplier selection remain undecided.
